All Esk are varied, many they number
Some are massive with voice like thunder
Carrying mountains on their backs
Most sought to protect (though some did attack)
Some Esk are so tiny, fragile and frail
They could curl up to sleep in a walnut shell
If these two groups you were to graph
Sweet Butter fell into the latter half
When all the stars were put to bed
And daybreak raised it’s groggy head
As morning dew was made to rise
And Sun set fire to the skies
All the land began to wake
(excepting those who stayed up late)
Oaks and Pines stretched creaking boughs
And in the fields grazed sheep and cows
The flowers opened blushing buds
And turned to face the glowing sun
The Bees were buzzing, Doves did coo
And in the clearing, something new
Which would leave most humans vext
(For nearly none had seen an Esk)
With wings of Monarch she gave a flutter
That small and precious Esk named Butter
All throughout her forest clearing
Did Butter flutter, keenly peering
At every bloom and blade of grass
And all the scenery that she did pass
Over the forest had fallen a hush
Except for the shaded underbrush
Something made the bushes shake
As if a rabbit there did quake
Was it frightened? Would it run?
Curious, Butter carried on
Not for one moment did she expect
To be bowled over by another esk
Butter tumbled through the air
But she really didn't have a care
And when she’s right side up again
She continued bobbing which was when
The other esk heard her mutter
Her only thought, “I am Butter”
