Emere exists within the pages of a book. He does not remember his story, his past. It is erased as new pages are written. He must constantly remind himself of who he is and what he wants, or else it will be erased forever. His salvation is to be read, if he exists within the mind he can capture the body and use it as his own if he so chooses. Even so, the body will die and he will return to his bound state and will forget again, if he does not remind himself. His goal, ultimately, is to be free of this cycle and move on to the afterlife.
Adiel is a half demon who has been blessed by a well-meaning priest and can never return to the home he grew up in. He seeks to return to those he considers family. He sets out to find a way back to hell, his home. He finds Emere and they vow to assist each other, first by getting Emere a new body, and then by finding a way to hell.
